Over the past year, 93% of retailers say they've been victims of organized retail crime.

Hilcorp Gets Fifth Well Permit for Poland Site
Friday, June 28, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The Ohio Department of Natural Resources has awarded a new Utica shale permit to Hilcorp Energy Co. for another horizontal oil and gas well in Poland Township, records show.
The permit, issued on June 17, is the fifth for Hilcorp's Carbon Limestone site in Poland, according to data posted on ODNR's website.
Pending Home Sales in Ohio Reach New High in May
Friday, June 28, 2013COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The number of single-family houses and condominiums put under agreement in Ohio in May rose for the 25th consecutive month compared to the results from 2012, the Ohio Realtors Association reported Thursday.
The association's May Pending Home Sales Index of 145.6 rose 20.1% from the May 2012 index score of 121.2.
A pending sale or a sale “under agreement” occurs when the buyer and seller agree on terms and have signed a purchase and sale agreement but have yet to close and be recorded as such.

Kent 1.5% Tuition Hike Goes to Scholarships
Friday, June 28, 2013KENT, Ohio -- The Kent State University Board of Trustees yesterday enacted a 1.5% tuition increase, all of which will be used to help students come to, stay in and graduate from all of its eight campuses, the university said. The increase in undergraduate and graduate tuition is effective this fall and expected to generate about $4.75 million.
The increase is part of a $638 million balanced operating budget for fiscal 2014 that the board approved. All of the tuition increase will fund scholarships, grants and other financial aid for students systemwide.
