Farmers to Close Branches in Leetonia, Warren
Wednesday, July 03, 2013CANFIELD, Ohio -- Farmers National Bank has announced that it will close its office in Leetonia and a second at 2910 Youngstown Road in Warren Oct. 1, notifying the employees last week.
It also notified its regulator, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, of its intent. Farmers said, “Prudent business practices surrounded the decision to close the affected branches.”
City Approves McDonald's Drive-Thru Redesign
Wednesday, July 03, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- A $200,000 upgrade to the drive-thru lanes at the Fifth Avenue McDonald’s will move forward, a precursor to a potential remodel of the restaurant itself, its owner says.
A plan to reconfigure the drive-thru lane at the McDonald’s restaurant, 570 Fifth Ave., from a single-lane layout to a dual-lane layout, was approved Tuesday by the city’s Design Review Committee. Area McDonald’s franchisee John Perdue and Jim Ptacek, project manager for Larsen Architects, Lakewood, appeared before the committee to discuss the redesign.
GM, Honda to Collaborate on Fuel Cell Technologies

Ltd. have formed a long-term, definitive master agreement to co-develop next-generation fuel cell system and hydrogen storage technologies, with a goal of having them by 2020. The collaboration expects to succeed by sharing expertise, economies of scale and common sourcing strategies.
GM and Honda say they’ll work together with stakeholders to further advance refueling infrastructure, a factor critical for the long-term viability and consumer acceptance of vehicles powered by fuel cells.
GM Sales Highest Since 2008, Cruze Hits Record
Tuesday, July 02, 2013DETROIT -- General Motors Co. sold 264,843 vehicles in the United States in June, up 6% compared with a year ago, the automaker reported today. Deliveries to retail customers increased 14% while fleet sales declined 9% due to the timing of customer deliveries.
Sales of the Lordstown, Ohio-built Chevrolet Cruze reached 32,872 in June, up 73% from June 2012, setting an all-time monthly sales record.

MarkWest Consolidates Offices in Washington County, Pa.
Tuesday, July 02, 2013CANONSBURG, Pa. -- MarkWest Energy Partners is consolidating its two offices in southwestern Pennsylvania into one at the Southpointe business park in Washington County.
The Denver-based company is moving 70 employees who oversee its Liberty division into a 30,000-square-foot office building at 4600 J. Barry Court, reports the Pittsburgh Business Times. A spokesman said MarkWest has outgrown two others offices it occupied at Southpointe and on Morganza Road.
MarkWest's Liberty division includes its massive processing plant in Houston, Pa., and three others in West Virginia.
