Reznor Reinvents Business, Saves 125-Year-Old Firm
Wednesday, July 17, 2013MERCER, Pa. -- Three years ago, it looked as if one of the oldest companies in the Shenango Valley would be forced to close its doors and relocate its operations, and with it, 100 jobs.
Today, Reznor, a division of Memphis-based Thomas & Betts Corp., which manufactures commercial/industrial heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment, stands at the same site in Mercer, Pa. that it’s occupied since 1911.

Wednesday, July 17, 2013PETERSBURG, Ohio -- The build-out of the second phase of Pennant Midstream LLC's Hickory Bend gathering and processing systems has begun and is likely to employ more skilled building tradesmen than the first segment, a union official says.
"They're looking to use about 100 more workers this time," reports Rocco "Rocky" DiGennaro, business agent for Local 125 of the Laborers International Union. "From our union, they'll be about 55."

Wednesday, July 17, 2013HUBBARD, Ohio – VEC/Evets Electrical Inc. hopes to complete a 27,500-square-foot expansion at its facility here by early 2014 at the latest, says the company's CEO.
Hubbard City Council approved a 10-year, 75% property tax abatement Monday night on the $2.5 million project; it will go before Trumbull County Commissioners Tuesday morning.
But even if commissioners approve the abatement, the company still must overcome an environmental issue at the site, said Rex Ferry, CEO of VEC Inc. "We are still working diligently through [these issues]," he added.
Ohio New Business Filings Down Slightly in June

Last month, 7,185 entities completed new business filings; in June 2012, 7,339 documents were filed.
