City to Provide $500K Grant for 5th YBI Building

Nominations Open for ‘25 Under 35’ Awards
Thursday, June 05, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Nominations are open for the 25 Under 35 awards sponsored by Mahoning Valley Young Professionals Club. Nomination forms must be received on or before Aug. 15.
Twenty-five will be selected as honorees from all nominations received. All responses to questions on the official nomination form will be rated by an independent selection panel. The 25 with the highest average rating will be recognized.
Those selected will be announced in October, three of whom will be recognized as MVPs Feb. 5.

Pa. Casino Revenues Drop in May
Thursday, June 05, 2014HARRISBURG, Pa. -- The drop in slot machine revenue at casinos within Pennsylvania during May was less than 1% compared to May 2013. The 12 casinos produced slot machine revenues of $210.8 million, 0.2% less than in May of last year.
Those revenues resulted in $112.8 million in taxes to the state treasury, an average of $3.6 million in taxes per day, says the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
Datacom Marks 20 Years with New Offices, Products

In February, Datacom moved to newly renovated offices and manufacturing space at 11757 Market St., a move that its principals say has helped connect what normally would be two distinct business segments – data communications and commercial door fabrication.

CNG Fueling Station to Open by Next Week in Girard
Wednesday, June 04, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- A compressed-natural gas, or CNG, fueling station at the Salt Springs Road/Interstate 80 interchange in Girard is scheduled to open by next week, a representative of IGS Energy told attendees at the Youngstown State University Sustainable Energy Conference Tuesday.
"Typically, we like to build a station where we have fleets in the area," said Dan Hackett, account manager for IGS CNG Services. "This location is such an incredibly traveled interstate, that we built this station without a current anchor fleet."
