YSU Williamson College Dedicates Kartalis Room
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Youngstown State University today dedicated the Katherine Glinatsis Kartalis Team Room in the Williamson College of Business Administration.
The Team Room, on the second floor of the college, provides dedicated and quiet space for student group study and other interaction, such as group meetings for planning or preparation of class presentations.
The dedication is the result of a $525,000 gift from Andrew and Katherine Glinatsis Kartalis -- $450,000 to establish an endowed scholarship with the YSU Foundation, $25,000 to the Veterans Resource Center and $50,000 to the Williamson College of Business Administration to name the room.
“I wanted to make this contribution to show my appreciation for the valuable education I received at YSU and to provide scholarship support for business students that need financial assistance to complete their education,” Katherine Glinatsis Kartalis said.
“On behalf of the entire university, I want to thank Andrew and Katherine for their generosity and their commitment to Youngstown State University and our students,” YSU President Randy J. Dunn said.
Katherine Glinatsis Kartalis is a 1959 business education graduate of YSU. After traveling the world with her husband who was a career naval officer, the Kartalises settled in the Cleveland area with their two daughters, Angelique Berry and Elena Caspar. As a result of their philanthropy, the Kartalises will become members of the YSU President’s Council.
