Eastern Gateway Names Finalists for Presidency
STEUBENVILLE, Ohio -- Eastern Gateway Community College today named four finalists for the EGCC presidency to succeed Laura Meeks when she retires later this year.
The four candidates are Jimmie Bruce, vice president of academic success at Northwest Vista College, San Antonio; Lada Gibson-Shreve, provost and chief academic officer at Stark State College, North Canton; Derrick Manns, executive vice chancellor for Fletcher Technical Community, Houma, La., and South Central Louisiana Technical College, Reserve, La.; and Anthony Summers, vice president for student development at Richland College, Dallas.
John T. Gilmore, chairman of Eastern Gateway’s board of trustees, thanked the presidential search committee members for their efforts. "We were able to recruit a rich pool of candidates from throughout the state, region and nation. Your contribution to the many accomplishments at EGCC was instrumental in attracting such high quality candidates,” he said.
Each of the finalists will participate in open public forums March 2-5 at the Steubenville main campus, Room 2100-2102, as well as at the Valley Center in downtown Youngstown, Room C109. The schedule for the forums follows:
March 2, Gibson-Shreve, 10-11 a.m., Steubenville; 2:15-3:15, Youngstown.
March 3, Manns, 10:30-11:30 a.m., Youngstown; 3:30-4:30 p.m., Steubenville.
March 4, Summers, 10:30-11:30 a.m., Steubenville; 3-4 p.m., Youngstown.
March 5, Bruce, 10:30-11:30 a.m., Steubenville; 3-4 p.m., Youngstown.
Feedback forms will be given to all who attend and the completed forms will be collected at the end of each forum and given to the board of trustees for review.
