YSU Students Present Papers at Symposium
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Five graduate students in Youngstown State University’s Williamson College of Business’ master of business administration program this week are presenting their research at the International Symposium of the Analytic Hierarchy Process in Washington D.C.
The symposium, which runs Jthrough July 2, brings together researchers, teachers and students to share their research and experiences in decision making.
YSU Professor of Management Birsen Karpak said presentations from doctoral students are common at the symposium, but this is the first time a symposium organization invited master’s-level students. The three YSU teams submitted research proposals to the symposium, and they were accepted after a review process.
The research papers are being presented at a session titled "YSU Williamson College of Business Administration AHP in Decision Making," organized by Karpak and chaired by Ramesh Dangol, professor of management at WCBA.
YSU students presenting at the symposium are:
- Sayantoni Dey of Niles and Jakub Waksmundzki of Warren; “Best Plant Location for a Manufacturing Company: An Analytic Hierarchy Process Approach,” Dey, Stephen Bosela, Struthers and Waksmundzki (co-authors).
- Philip Nicholas Tizio of Hermitage, Pa., “Selection of the Most Attractive Emerging Market for a Business to Enter Among the Countries Turkey, Russia, India and China: An Analytical Hierarchy Approach,” Philip Nicholas Tizio, Matthew A Kuhns of Youngstown, David Lucas of West Middlesex, Pa., and Lyndi Schrecengost of Cortland, co-authors)
