VEC Donates $5K, Mentoring to Sister Jerome's Poor
GIRARD. Ohio -- Valley Electrical Consolidated Inc. awarded a $5,000 grant to Sister Jerome’s Poor to sponsor a local college student as well as to provide mentoring for the student.
The check for sponsorship was presented to Sister Jerome Corcoran at VEC’s headquarters Oct. 31.
Upon graduating from Eastern Gateway Community College in June, Brianna Spatafore will continue her education at Youngstown State University. Tricia Ferry of VEC will mentor Spatafore during this time.
The grant represents the core values that Rex Ferry, VEC president and CEO, promotes -- “Faith, Family and Community,” the company said in a prepared statement. VEC is the parent company of Valley Electrical, Evets Oil and Gas and VEC SI Low Voltage Solutions.
Sister Jerome’s Poor seeks donations for living expenses for selected students to assist with gas, car repair, food on campus, clothing, shoes, books, fees and emergencies.
To donate or inquire about this program, call the Ursuline Center at 330 792 7636. All donations are welcome.
