KSU Trumbull Hosts Career Day for Female 10th Graders
WARREN, Ohio -- Kent State University Trumbull Campus, Champion Township, will host its annual "The Road Not Taken" career conference April 4. Keynote speaker is Camille Favre, senior vice president of human resources at Seven Seventeen Credit Union.
The conference is a career-exploration program designed for 150 female high school sophomores enrolled in advanced math and science classes. These students will learn aboout high-profile local women successfully engaged in nontraditional careers in math, science and technology.
Twelves womem are scheduled to speak during the daylong conference.
Speakers include:
- Mary Russell, Ph.D., associate professor at the Trumbull Campus who teaches human physiology, human genetics and microbiology.
- Shirley Lisk, manager of St. Joe's at the (Eastwood} Mall for St. Joseph Health Center and a professional speaker on humor, stress management and motivation.
- Erica Moore and Natasha Branam, special agent and computer forensic specialist, respectively, for the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation.
- Kimberly Nicole Jackson, D.O., and Kristin Astrom, D.O. Jackson is employed at Humility of Mary Health Partners and is completing a residency in family medicine at St. Joseph Health Center. Astrom is employed at St. Joseph Community Care Clinic and HowlandUrgentCare.
- Sharon Arkwright, a senior engineer at Delphi Packard Electrical Electronic Architecture 13 years where she developed automotive components through product design and manufacturing systems.
- Jenna Schaffner, pharmacotherapy specialist at Akron General Medical Center and assistant professor of pharmacy at Northeast Ohio Medical University.
- Josna Neuman, certified public accountant and full-time accounting technology professor at the Trumbull Campus and coordinator of the accounting technology programs for all the Kent State regional campuses.
- Valerie CubonāBell, Ph.D., assistant professor of chemistry at the Trumbull Campus.
- Sonia Alemagno Ph.D., dean of the Kent State University College of Public Health and professor of health policy and management at the college.
- Tracie Kaglic, project architect for Olsavsky-Jaminet Architects on new construction and renovation projects including educational, medical, commercial and industrial uses.
