HBA Offers Ohio 2013 Residential Code Seminar
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The new 2013 Residential Code of Ohio, which took effect Jan. 1, encompasses many changes that can affect builders and contractors. And to clarify the major changes, the Home Builders Association of the Valley is holding a seminar at 10 a.m. May 30.
Jim Zengel, a third-generation builder/remodeler from Dayton, will teach the three-hour seminar at the Holiday Inn-Boardman, said Jennie Brewer, HBA executive officer. Zengel will provide builders, remodelers and tradesmen a serious and simple, item by item, comparison of the new residential building code changes, which affect several aspects of the residential construction industry from framing to mechanicals to energy efficiency, she adds.
The seminar is open to both members of the HBA and those who don’t belong. Charge for members is $40, for those who aren’t, $55. Lunch is included.
Zengel is known as the technical "voice of reason" when it comes to the builder/remodeler perspective of the codes, Brewer notes. He has participated in discussions regarding these codes at every level including the International Codes Council, the National Association of Home Builders Code Committee, the Ohio Home Builders Association Codes Committee and the state of Ohio Residential Codes Advisory Council.
For reservations, call the HBA Office at 330 965 9779.
