Friday, February 06, 2015YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- As the 26 nominees for this year's 25 Under 35 awards sat in the front of a packed room filled family, friends and colleagues, videos started playing to announce the three winners of the MVP award.
The videos featured words from co-workers and friends who talked about the nominees’ personalities, what they've accomplished and what it's like to know them. For some, the experience created more stress than was apparent to the audience.
Ex-CEO to Sell Holdings in Aerodynamics Inc.
Friday, February 06, 2015YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Troubled Aerodynamics Inc. owner Scott Beale, having already resigned his executive positions with the carrier, will sell his interest in the company as well, the company stated in its response to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s show cause order.
The carrier also said in the filing that it has added three members to its boards in addition to its newly hired president, CEO and chairman, industry veteran Darrell Richardson.
Taylor Visits JL Treharn to Tout Kasich Tax Plan

John Kasich's proposal to eliminate the state income tax on some small businesses would enable her company to reinvest in its operations and add employees -- something the furniture maker hasn't done in a while.
"It is helping us to at least consider for the first time in a very long time making some purchases towards improving our equipment, and hopefully long-term, making some changes that will give us better footing in the marketplace, which will help us hire more," Treharn said Thursday
CCPA Uses Farmers Bank to Refinance Its Debt
Friday, February 06, 2015EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio – The Columbiana County Port Authority Thursday contracted with Farmers National Bank of Canfield to borrow up to $3.07 million to refinance debt owed the state of Ohio and to act as its depository bank.
In a special meeting yesterday morning, the board also entered into a memorandum of understanding to establish a RiverNet Wireless Network that would provide “reliable Internet service to Columbiana County businesses in urban centers,” said CEO Tracy Drake, “and connectivity to county residents“ who lack such a level of access to the Internet.
First National Bank Names Kreider to Head NW Region
Friday, February 06, 2015PITTSBURGH -- First National Bank of Pennsylvania has named Frank Kreider regional president for its northwestern region that consists of six counties in northwestern Pennsylvania and two in northeastern Ohio.
John Williams, president of the bank, made the announcement Thursday.
The counties are Mahoning and Trumbull in Ohio and Mercer, Lawrence, Butler, Venango, Erie and Crawford in Pennsylvania.

DeWine, Chamber CEO Respond to Anthem Data Breach
Thursday, February 05, 2015YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Following the disclosure of a data breach affecting up to 80 million current and former customers and employees of Anthem Inc., Ohiio Attorney General Mike DeWine encourages consumers to take steps to protect their personal information and watch for signs of identity theft.
“Even if your information has been compromised, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you will be the victim of identity theft, but it is important to monitor your accounts and check your mail,” he warns. “The sooner you detect a problem, the easier it will be to correct.”
Anthem Notifies Employers of 'External Cyber Attack'
Thursday, February 05, 2015YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Anthem Inc., the nation’s second largest health insurer, is notifying companies and individual customers that its security systems have been hacked in what the company calls “a very sophisticated external cyber attack.”
The database contained personal information for 80 million Anthem current and past customers and its employees, according to published reports. As of Dec. 31, Anthem had 37.5 million medical members.
Trumbull Residents, Officials Meet Over Injection Wells
Thursday, February 05, 2015WARREN, Ohio -- Citizens and public officials in Trumbull County are looking for ways to bring oversight of Class II injection wells back to the local level.
During a meeting held Wednesday by Trumbull County Engineer Randy Smith, and attended by county commissioners and about 50 residents, concerns were raised about safety and responsibility, particularly as it relates to the use of roads and bridges.
"The engineers office will not take a position either for or against oil-related activity," Smith began. "We're simply here to look out for our roads and bridges."
