Zogby Poll: Bush Leads Kerry Nationally but Not in Ohio
UTICA, N.Y. -- President George W. Bush now leads by two points over his Democratic challenger, Sen. John Kerry, according to today's Reuters/Zogby daily tracking poll. But Bush also trails Kerry by one point in Ohio, finds another Zogby poll that tracks 10 battleground states. The national tracking poll was conducted from Monday through Wednesday, Oct. 25-Oct 27., and is based on telephone interviews with 1,206 likely voters. The margin of error is plus or minus 2.9%.The state tracking poll polled 600 likely voters in telephone interviews conducted from Sunday through Wednesday. Because the sample is much smaller, the margin of error is plus or minus 4.9%.Zogby's Ohio poll finds Kerry at 46%, Bush at 45% with 6% undecided. Bush was ahead of Kerry by five points on Oct. 24, the first day of the four-day tracking poll. Ohio has 20 electoral votes. But the president has pulled even with Kerry in Michigan, which has 17 electoral votes, with both candidates getting 47% favored by likely voters, according to Zogby's poll of that state.
