Westminster Graduate Amber Brkich Wins Survivor All-Stars
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Amber Brkich, a 2000 Westminster College graduate with a degree in public relations, is the ultimate survivor and took home a million dollars and an engagement ring during last night's season finale of the CBS reality show Survivor: All-Stars.Brkich, a 25-year-old native of Beaver, Pa., outwitted, outlasted, and outplayed 17 of the finest contestants from the previous eight Survivor shows during a 39-day contest in Panama.Brkich edged her alliance partner "Boston" Rob Mariano by a 4-3 vote revealed during Sunday night's live broadcast in New York City.Mariano also ended up a big winner on the evening as Brkich accepted his marriage proposal.Brkich will be busy for the next few weeks on a CBS media tour.She and Mariano were featured on Monday's Early Show, and she will also be a guest on Late Night With David Letterman Monday at 11:30 p.m.In case Amber needs any ideas on what to do with her prize, the Westminster College Development Office is accepting donations for a number of worthwhile projects.Founded in 1852 and related to the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), Westminster College is ranked among national leaders in graduation rate performance, according to U.S. News Guide to America's Best Colleges, and is one of the most affordable national liberal arts colleges in Pennsylvania.For more information on Brkich and the Survivor show, visit: www.amber-brkich.comVisit Westminster College: www.westminster.edu"
