USWA Plans Fund-Raiser for RMI Employees
PITTSBURGH-- Members of United Steelworkers of America are urged to attend a fund-raiser to help the 365 employees of RTI Titanium, Niles, Ohio. The union-sponsored event will take place Nov. 6 at Waddell Park in Niles and begin with a rally at 1 p.m.The RMI employees have been locked out of their jobs at the plant, a subsidiary of RTI International Metals, since Oct. 25, 2003."One year later, RTI management is still unfairly insisting on nearly $3 million in concessions from these hardworking, loyal employees," said Leo W. Gerard, president of the United Steel Workers of America. "I urge all steelworker locals and members to stand with us in solidarity for an afternoon of speakers, entertainment, food and fun. Locals unable to make it to the rally are encouraged to send a contribution in support of these locked out workers."Visit United Steelworkers of America"
