Strollo Architects Reorganizes with Virginia, Florida Firms"
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Hanahan & Strollo Inc. today announced an agreement with architectural and engineering firms based in Florida, Virginia and Washington, D.C., to create a new organization that will serve a more diverse client base. The new entity will be known as Strollo Architects Inc. and will have offices in Youngtown, Columbiana, Meadville, Pa., Orlando, Fla., Richmond, Va., and Washington. Gregg Strollo, a principal in Hanahan & Strollo, will serve as president of the new company.Each of the firms joining together "have earned regional reputations in the federal, transportation and corrections/justice markets, which will complement our substantive achievements in health care, retail and education architecture," Strollo saidPrincipals in Strollo Architects' mid-Atlantic and Florida locations are J. Pat Strollo (Orlando and Washington) and Lawrence Strollo (Richmond). Principals based in the Youngtown area are Perry Douglass, Rodney Lamberson, Tom Madej, Terry McCoy, Gregg Stollo and Joseph Yank.Hanahan & Strollo was founded in 1956 by R.F. Strollo, R.L. Hanahan, and Tom Boucherle. The firm is responsible for the architecture of the recently completed Davis Family YMCA Complex, the St. Elizabeth Health Care Campus in Boardman, the new YSU Andrews Student Wellness and Recreation Center, and dozens of other area landmarks. Through its 48 years of existence, the firm has completed more than 3,000 commissions in the tri-state area, with total project values exceeding $2.5 billion.
