Seven Seventeen's Kent Office Wins Design Award
WARREN, Ohio -- The Institute of Store Planners and Visual Merchandising and Store Design magazine is recognizing the design of Seven Seventeen Credit Union's new Portage County office with its "award of merit."The project manager, architect Peter S. Macrae, and YuFung Tim Lai, an architect with TRIAD Architects, Columbus, accepted the design award at a recent ceremony in New York City. TRIAD based much of its design concept on a new approach to transacting financial business called "dialogue banking." Dialogue banking removes the traditional barriers between teller and member, resulting in a personalized, customer service-oriented retail environment, said Macrae.TRIAD also incorporated interactive computer information centers in the Portage County office to provide Seven Seventeen members instant access to a wealth of useful product information. Bold, colorful walls and graphics emphasize Seven Seventeen's new approach to banking, Macrae said. "We have removed the depersonalization that is sometimes associated with technology," said Cheryl D'Amore, the credit union's vice president of administrative services. "Removing the traditional teller line has provided Seven Seventeen members face-to-face service in a more relaxed atmosphere in the branch." Seven Seventeen Credit Union, a member-owned financial institution established in 1957, is the third largest credit union in Ohio with nine offices located throughout Trumbull, Mahoning, Stark, and Portage Counties. The Portage County branch is located in Kent. Visit Seven Seventeen Credit Union at www.sscu.net"
