Park Vista Re-accredited by CCAC
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Park Vista Retirement Community has been granted accreditation from the Continuing Care Accreditation Commission through June 2009. Park Vista is the only CCAC-accredited retirement facility in the Mahoning Valley, according to Mary Cochran, executive director."We are very pleased to have come through our accreditation with no recommendations for improvement," Cochran says. "There was not one recommendation in all of the Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Communities. This is certainly a strong statement that our organizations take quality seriously and that our employees are dedicated to doing their best for the residents. The CCAC, a nonprofit organization founded in 1985, is the nation's only accrediting body for aging services continuums, including continuing care retirement communities. Three critical areas are reviewed: governance; finance and strategy; and, health and wellness. An organization must provide documentation and proof that they are in compliance with each of the CCAC's standards, Cochran notes.Park Vista Retirement Community has been providing services to older adults in the community since 1947 and has been accredited by the CCAC since 1989. Its parent organization, Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Services, is Ohio's largest nonprofit provider of continuing care retirement communities."
