Ohio Gets High Marks for Business Climate
WASHINGTON -- A new guide to America's states and cities puts Ohio in the top 10 among states for its business climate. But the Buckeye State ranks in the bottom ten for environmental indicators, in part because of its air quality. Among American cities, Cincinnati's business climate ranked 14th in the nation, according to America's Best Cities & States: The Annual Gold Guide to Leading Rankings. Columbus, Cleveland, Toledo, Akron, Dayton and Parma were also cited, reports Spencer Tracy, executive editor of the publication. In the Gold Guide's "Best of the Best" rankings, Ohio ranked 36th among all states. The state ranked 10th for its business climate and 20th in education measures. But it ranked 50th in environmental indicators, including the lowest rank in the nation in air quality from Environmental Defense, a Gold Guide contributor. The Gold Guide is published by NPRC Press, a division of the National Policy Research Council, a Washington, D.C.-based think tank offering non-partisan research, analysis and information to state and local policymakers.Visit the National Policy Research Council: www.nprcouncil.com "
