Notre Dame to Offer Business Negotiation Course Online
TAMPA, Fla. -- Through an agreement with Bisk Education's University Alliance Online division, the University of Notre Dame will offer a Master Certificate in Business Negotiation online, according to Leo Burke, associate dean and director of executive education at the Notre Dame, Inc., campus. The Master Certificate track is comprised of three eight-week courses in business negotiation, each containing up to 16 hours of streaming video presentation, independent exercises, and exams, and courses can be taken individually if desired.Students are awarded certificates honoring the fulfillment of each course, and completion of all three courses will earn the student a Master Certificate in Business Negotiation from the University of Notre Dame's Mendoza College of Business, which last year was ranked in the top 30 business schools by both U.S. News & World Report and BusinessWeek, Burke said."Today's leaders must continue to develop their skills and capabilities," Burke noted. "Now, time and distance can no longer prevent professionals from accessing and benefiting from the world-class faculty and curriculum that Notre Dame has a reputation for providing."Enrollments are scheduled to begin in summer 2005. The University of Notre Dame's Business Negotiation Master Certificate will be instructed by Ann E. Tenbrunsel, Ph.D., associate professor in the Department of Management at the University of Notre Dame, Gaylen D. Paulson, Ph.D., from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin, and Joseph Holt, director for executive ethics in the Executive Education program at the Mendoza College of Business, the University of Notre Dame.Founded in 1842, the University of Notre Dame is an independent national Catholic university organized into four undergraduate colleges -- Arts and Letters, Science, Engineering, and the Mendoza College of Business -- the School of Architecture, the Law School, the Graduate School, 10 major research institutes, more than 40 centers and special programs, and the University Library system.
