NEO Growth Watch Showcases Thriving Businesses
CANTON, Ohio -- If you think the local economy is in the dumps, it's time to think again. Many northeast Ohio companies are thriving, according to a new online business barometer called NEO Growth Watch. The Web site, which showcases the successes of small businesses in northeast Ohio and Stark County, was developed by The Karcher Group. "There are businesses in our own backyard that are creating new jobs and generating revenue," says Geoff Karcher, company president. "We hope to inspire other local business owners by showcasing the positive environments at these companies as well attract new opportunities for our neighborhoods by demonstrating that northeast Ohio is a good place to be."Rich Craig, a partner with The 415 Group, believes the site is long overdue. "It frustrates me to see only the job losses and plant closings on the news when I have clients in town that are far outperforming their national and international peers," he says. "I know the Jackson-Belden Chamber of Commerce has increased its membership by 250 companies over the past three years -- a 100% increase in total membership. That shouldn't be happening if the economy in this area is as bad as the national news makes it out to be."Other local economic development groups are enthusiastic as well. "The ability to communicate our region's successes helps to get the word out about the positive things happening in the region," says Robert C. Farley, president of Team NEO.All small businesses in Stark County and northeast Ohio small businesses are invited to get involved in the project by completing an online form, Karcher said. The Karcher Group is a provider of high-end Web development, marketing and hosting services, and offers advanced search engine marketing strategies to Web site owners and managers.Visit The Karcher Group: www.thekarchergroup.comVisit NEO Growth Watch: www.neogrowthwatch.com"
