Mount Union Seeks Nominations for King Award
ALLIANCE, Ohio -- Mount Union College is asking community members to submit nominations for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Award. Each year, the college presents the award to an Alliance community resident who best embodies the values and principles exemplified by King. This year's award will be presented during the Martin Luther King Jr. Day convocation Jan. 17, 2005.Nominations, which are accepted from individuals and organizations, must be submitted by writing a letter outlining why the nominee should receive the honor. Selection is based on promotion of racial harmony, advocating social justice, collaboration with groups, offices, churches and/or organizations, demonstration of sustained commitment to diversity and fostering inclusiveness and appreciation of differences.Nomination letters should be sent to Suanne MacMillan, Office of Student Affairs, Mount Union College, 1972 Clark Avenue, Alliance, Ohio 44601. All nominations should be postmarked by Dec. 1."
