Trumbull Memorial Foundation Has $300K for Grants
WARREN, Ohio -- The Trumbull Memorial Health Foundation, which has more than $300,000 to award in grants later this year, is looking for innovative programs that serve health needs of Trumbull County, Patrick K. Wilson announced Thursday.
Wilson is chairman of the board of the foundation.
The foundation is inviting requests for proposals as part of its ongoing effort to identify and provide funds to the best local initiatives that promote health services and/or health education.
“This is a competitive process and we are always looking for top-notch programs that promote good health,” Wilson said in a prepared statement. “The number and size of the grants we approve will depend on the quality of proposals we receive.”
Earlier this month, the foundation announced more than $153,000 in grants, including $39,000 to the Warren Youth Fitness Challenge.
Those interested in the grants must complete a letter of inquiry form and submit it by Friday, Aug. 29. The form can be downloaded from the TMHF section of the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley website, www.cfmv.org. Those invited to submit full proposals will be notified in late September.
Each year the Trumbull Memorial Health Foundation, which has assets of more than $13 million, provides grants to fund initiatives that advance the health of Trumbull County residents. It is the successor to the Trumbull Memorial Hospital Foundation, created by the hospital in 1976. Since 2012, the foundation has operated separately from the hospital as an affiliate of the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley.
