BOARDMAN, Ohio -- Progressive Counseling Center is open and accepting clients, Diedre K. Adduci, clinical director, announces.

On the staff are a team of addiction medicine physicians and mental health professionals who offer a comprehensive program to treat addictions to opioid drugs, including heroin, prescription medications and alcohol.

The center’s program follows a targeted treatment plan that integrates physician-managed Buprenorphine medication. Suboxone is one medications prescribed there and is approved for the treatment of addiction to opiates, Adduci says. With the correct doses, she says, the medication suppresses cravings for opiates and alleviates the symptoms of withdrawal.

In addition, counseling, both individual and in groups,  help abusers overcome their addictions. Comprehensive mental health services address underlying issues that might have led to addiction, Adduci says.

Self-referrals and physician referrals are welcome, the clinical director says, and the center accepts most insurance and other forms of payment.
