Northside Docs Attest to Quality in Public Letter
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The medical executive committee of Northside Medical Center today issued a public letter commending the quality of medical care provided at the hospital. Signed by Dr. John Gianetti, president of the medical staff, and 17 other physician leaders, the letter speaks to the quality of patient care and commends recent investments by the hospital's owner, Community Health Systems of Tennessee, to continue to improve patient care.
The letter follows Tuesday's one-day strike by members of the Youngstown General Duty Nurses Association (READ STORY).
Here is the text of the letter as provided to the press by Northside Medical Center:
“Northside Medical Center is the hospital we choose for our patients and families. Awards from national organizations recognize the hospital’s high standards for care, including Healthgrades, which ranks Northside among the top 5% of U.S. hospitals. More importantly, we see the commitment to quality and safety first-hand in the outstanding care provided for our patients.
“Tremendous work has been done to restore and enhance Northside since affiliating with Community Health Systems in October 2010. In three short years, administrators, medical staff, employees and the board of trustees have worked together to build upon our great tradition of caring for the Mahoning Valley, investing more than $50 million in medical technology and facilities. We are enhancing health services, recruiting new physicians, and completely focused on quality.
“We’re proud of our hospital’s accomplishments and, most especially, our never-ending, unwavering commitment to quality.
“We appreciate Northside’s nurses and the other skilled and compassionate team members who are our partners in care. We support Northside’s leadership in their vision and plans for this hospital. It is through our work together, and the resources of our larger organization, that Northside has the facilities, tools and staff to provide our patients with high-quality care – close to home and whenever they need it.”
