GM Launches 'Summerdrive' Incentive Program
DETROIT -- GM yesterday announced its latest marketing initiative, Summerdrive, which is available on vehicles delivered from July 7 through Aug. 2. GM is offering competitive cash customer allowances of up to $5,000 on most 2004 GM trucks and sport utility vehicles and up to $4,000 on most cars.Alternatively, GM is offering interest-free financing for five years for qualified buyers on the purchase of most 2004 GM vehicles.Some of the products excluded from the Summerdrive program include the Cadillac CTS-V and XLR, Chevrolet SSR and Hummer H2."As we head into the summer selling period, our Summerdrive and Owner Loyalty programs make it a great time to purchase a new GM car or truck," said John Smith, group vice president GM North America Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing. "With the industry's broadest product line-up, award-winning quality and fuel economy leadership in more segments than any other manufacturer, consumers have more reasons than ever to choose a great new GM vehicle."A national campaign including television and Internet advertising begins on July 7.Additionally, GM announced customer cash allowances and attractive APR finance rates for qualified buyers of select 2005 models. This offer runs from July 7 through Aug. 2. GM also continues through Aug. 2 its Owner Loyalty program that was announced on June 2.General Motors Corp., the world's largest vehicle manufacturer, employs about 325,000 people globally in its core automotive business and subsidiaries. Founded in 1908, GM today has manufacturing operations in 32 countries, and its vehicles are sold in 192 countries."
