WARREN, Ohio -- Fun Flavored Fudge will offer its 64 fudge flavors as ice-cream and dessert toppings after the first of the year, owner Michele Newman said Wednesday.Newman is the chief executive officer of Top-Shelf Sweets n Gifts, 1813 Elm Road NE, which opened its store last November.Since the Food Network spent most of a day in late July filming her making fudge for its "Retro" program, hosted by Al Roker, Mayor Michael O'Brien has presented Newman with a key to the city. She was the first resident of Warren in 24 years to be so honored and, as O'Brien remarked, it was because she brought national recognition to the city."Retro" will air at 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21 and again at 1 a.m. Sept. 22, says the Food Channel's Web site. It will re-air at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2 and again at noon Oct. 3.Newman's interest in expanding her line of products came about after experimenting with the ingredients of her favorite flavor of fudge, banana walnut, and adapting and producing it as a topping. Her friends and customers pronounced the topping a success, which is leading her to adapt the other 63 flavors as well.Newman's older son's request, that develop a 65th flavor, banana split, continues as a work in progress, she reports. The popularity of her fudge has resulted in 18-hour days trying to keep up with demand.Visit Fun Flavored Fudge at www.topshelfsweetsngifts.com"
