Kassis Named Adviser at International Trade Center
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Mousa Kassis, director of exports for Global Equipment and Connections, a consulting firm here, has been named the international trade adviser at the International Trade Assistance Center at Youngstown State University, the university announced Monday.
The center offers export-counseling services at no charge to small and medium businesses in Mahoning, Trumbull and Ashtabula counties.
Kassis earned his baccalaureate and master’s degree in economics at YSU and has been an adjunct professor of economics there 16 years.
In its release, YSU said Kassis “has extensive experience in exporting and will provide services such as export readiness assessments, financial advice, help with finding government funds, logistics assistance, cultural readiness and preparedness for foreign regulations and customs issues.”
Said Kassis in a prepared statement, “My role and focus is to help small and medium-sized businesses, including farmers, expand their sales on the global level.”
During his career, Kassis has been owner and general manager of United Wholesale Distributors in Girard, where he resides, and associate vice president in the Beachwood office of Morgan Stanley.
The trade assistance center is one facet of the services the Ohio Small Business Development Center, housed in the Williamson College of Business Administration, offers.
