Ohio Ranked 5th for Best Business Climate
ATLANTA -- Site Selection magazine has ranked Ohio as having the fifth-best business climate this year and reports a separate survey by corporate real estate executives it polled ranked the Buckeye State as having the ninth-best business climate.
Site Selection, which released its annual rankings Monday, “named Georgia as the state with the Top Business Climate for 2014. The rankings are published in the November issue of the trade journal.
Half of the magazine’s rankings are based on a survey of corporate site selectors the editors asked to rank the 50 states based on their recent experiences of locating plants, stores or office buildings within them.
The other half is based on an index of seven criteria: performance in Site Selection’s competitiveness rankings; total new- plant database-compliant facilities in 2013; total new facilities per capita in 2013; total 2014 new projects year-to-date; total 2014 new projects year-to-date per capita; and state tax burden on mature firms according to the Tax Foundation and KPMG Location Matters analysis.
