Kent Business College Partnership to Promote Exports
KENT, Ohio -- The college of business administration at Kent State University has signed an agreement to promote exports by establishing a U.S. Export Assistance Center at the university, Todd Hiser announced today.
The college will work with Hiser, an international trade specialist with the U.S. Commercial Service, to help identify those companies in northeastern Ohio ready or nearly ready to export their goods or services.
“Exporting is paying off for many Ohio businesses that continue to make locally and sell globally -- 95% of the world’s consumers reside outside the United States," Hiser said in a statement. "If your business is not exporting, it’s time to get on board because not selling globally is just like leaving money on the table. The U.S. Export Assistance Center can help you navigate the avenues of exporting.”
Hiser joined the service as an international trade specialist in October 2008 at the Akron/Cleveland U.S. Export Assistance Center after working nearly 18 years in the private sector. His office is in Room 436 of the college of business administration building.
