Chamber’s Cann Joins State Development Association
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- William Cann, Trumbull County manager of business development for the Youngstown Warren Regional Chamber, was voted in as an Ohio Economic Development Association board member and area director for the Northeast Region for 2015.
Cann, of Austintown, has been with the Regional Chamber since 2012. He earned his bachelor’s degree and master’s in business administration from Youngstown State University. He will replace Sarah Boyarko, vice president of economic development, North America, for the Regional chamber. Her term expires in December.
The OEDA represents more than 300 economic development professionals from across Ohio. The non-partisan group advocates on behalf of economic development issues important to growing the Ohio economy, according to a news release announcing Cann’s selection.
"I am honored to be selected and will continue to represent the Mahoning Valley in this statewide association," Cann said.
As an area director, Cann will represent 18 counties in the JobsOhio Network, a statewide partnership of development professionals. OEDA works with JobsOhio Network partners for proper regional representation for all state economic development efforts.
The OEDA was created in 2005 through the merger of the Ohio Development Association and the Ohio Economic Development Council. It provides on-going professional development training and materials and provides members with resources to inform leaders about the importance of economic development to their communities.
