Duferco Farrell Gets $1.89 Million Funding Package
HARRISBURG, Pa. -- Duferco Farrell Corp., Farrell, Pa., will receive a $1.89 million state funding package, Pennsylvania Community and Economic Development Secretary Dennis Yablonsky announced late yesterday. The local company's project is one of 26 statewide that received a collective $16.06 million and are expected to create 1,151 jobs and retain 7,974 within the next three years.Duferco Farrell expects to create 10 jobs and retain 486 employees when it renovates its Farrell facility, which manufactures and markets hot and cold roll steel products. The company plans to purchase and install new equipment to upgrade its existing pickling process, Yablonsky said. Penn-Northwest Development Corp. helped the company secure the funding package, which includes one loan of $664,000, a second loan of $500,000 a $500,000 state grant and $225,000 in training funds.The Governor's Action team worked all the funding recipients and professional site consultants on projects involving significant investment and job creation opportunities, Yablonsky says."
