ODNR Permits New Wells in Mahoning, Columbiana
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Chesapeake Exploration has the green light to drill a new well in Mahoning County, three more wells in Columbiana County and another well in Carroll County.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources issued the five horizontal drilling permits this week, which will allow the Oklahoma City-based company to drill five new horizontal wells in the region .
The well in Mahoning County is permitted for the Jarvis property in Goshen Township, according to ODNR records. This latest well makes the ninth in Mahoning County, seventh in Goshen and fourth on the Jarvis property.
In Columbiana, Chesapeake received permits to drill three horizontal wells, one well on the Rosebud property in Madison Township and two wells on the Albaneso property on Foundry Hill Road in Franklin Township.
There are now 17 horizontal drilling permits in Columbiana County and three permits for the Albaneso property in Franklin.
In Carroll County, ODNR permitted Chesapeake to drill horizontally in East Township on the Burry property.
Other updates on Chesapeake’s Carroll County wells include six wells waiting to be hydraulically fractured in Lee Township; two on the Bailey property, two on the White property, one on the Tanner property and one on the Snoddy property.
The surface casing was set for another well on the Snoddy property in Lee as well as for a well on the Houyhouse property in Lee.
The production casing is being run at a well on the Bucey property in East Township.
There are 49 permits for horizontal drilling in Carroll County, according to ODNR records.
