ODNR Issues Drilling Permit in Columbiana County
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- In Columbiana and Carroll counties, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources last week issued five horizontal drilling permits to Chesapeake Exploration LLC.
In Columbiana County, Chesapeake was awarded a horizontal drilling permit on the Trebilcock South property in Hanover Township, the 10th permit for that township, and the Grubbs property in Elkrun Township, the third permit there.
There are now 31 horizontal drilling permits issued in Columbiana.
The horizontal drilling permits issued in Carroll County are for the Neider property in Washington Township, the Heaton property in Brown Township and the Tuckosh property in Loudon Township.
Of the 11 wells in Washington Township, two are producing, one on the Neider property. Five wells have been permitted on the Neider property.
Five wells are permitted in Brown -- two on the Heaton property -- and five in Loudon, four on the Tuckosh property.
Carroll County has 69 sites with horizontal drilling permits.
In Mahoning County, no new permits were issued, but Chesapeake applied to drill a well in Beaver Township on the Falb property near the intersection of Garfield Road and Green Beaver Road.
If approved, the permit could be the 10th horizontal drilling permit in the county.
No new permits were issued or applied for in Trumbull County. One permit has been issued in the county thus far.
