Chamber Seminar to Explore Shale Industry Supply Chain
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber, as part of its Youngstown, Ohio Utica and Natural Gas – or YOUNG -- Series, and the Ohio Shale Coalition will co-host a luncheon and half-day seminar detailing the requirements for involvement in the lucrative Utica shale industry supply chain.
The event will take place 11:30 a.m.-5 p.m. June 27 at Mr. Anthony’s Banquet Center, Boardman.
“Helping Ohio businesses prepare to participate in the shale energy supply chain is a critical part of ensuring that our state fully capitalizes on this game- changing economic opportunity,” said Linda Woggon, Ohio Shale Coalition executive director.
Attendees will learn the ins and outs of master service agreements, American Petroleum Institute and ISNetworld compliance, and gain strategies for contracting with exploration and production, oil field services and processing companies. Featured speakers for the program are Ed Durante, president and CEO, Texas International Engineering Consultants, and Donald P. Fischbach, partner and chair, energy and natural resources, for Calfee, Halter & Griswold LLP.
There also will be a panel discussion on “Strategies for Entering the Shale Supply Chain,” with companies representing exploration and production, oilfield services, midstream and local contracting. The day will conclude with a discussion on how companies can be included in the master database that the Ohio Shale Coalition is developing, which will be used by oil and gas companies when seeking qualified Ohio suppliers.
The cost of the seminar, which includes lunch, is $25 for Regional Chamber members and $35 for non-members. Registration is required. Individuals can register by contacting Jennifer Mascardine at 330 744 2131 ext. 12 or via email, or by visiting the Regional Chamber website and clicking on Chamber Events.
