Dann Bikes for Bucks
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Pushing pedals along the Western Reserve Greenway yesterday, state Sen. Marc Dann (D-Liberty Township) yesterday said his bike tour is an effort to promote the need for funding to complete the bike trails along the Greenway. Along the way, he met with local government officials to discuss the project. The Western Reserve Greenway is a 48-mile section of the Great Ohio Lake-to-River Greenway that goes from Warren County to Ashtabula County. "Completion of the trail will improve the quality of life in Trumbull and Ashtabula Counties," Dann said. "This is already a great place to live, but it is these kinds of amenities that make communities an even more attractive place to live."In addition to helping complete and improve bike trails along the Greenway, funding for the project would help preserve wildlife habitats, generate economic growth by bring new customers to existing businesses and connect communities along the Greenway in Ashtabula, Trumbull, Mahoning and Columbiana counties, Dann said.Dann said he plans to request funding for the Greenway project as part of the State Capital Budget. The Great Ohio Lake-to-River Greenway is an 85-mile trail built on abandoned railroad lines and adjacent corridors that someday will connect Lake Erie at Ashtabula Harbor with the Ohio River at East Liverpool. Dann said he will request help for the following projects:North Shore TrailAshtabula CountyTrumbull CountyWarren RiverwalkCity of NilesCity of WarrenGeneva Community ParkAshtabula County"
