"GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Ed Breen, Grove City College graduate and chairman and chief executive officer of Tyco will visit his alma mater Feb. 17 to speak with students and faculty, and the public. Together, they will present the possibility of finance internships to Grove City students.Tyco is the world's largest manufacturer and installer of fire and safety systems and the largest provider of electronic security services in North America and the United Kingdom. Stock prices fell, Tyco hired Breen, and stock prices then rose by 40% within hours after the Breen announcement. CNN lists Breen as one of 2004's "Global Business Influentials" and Time magazine describes him as a "churchgoer known for his plain lifestyle (who) has never forgotten the old-fashioned values he learned as a student." Breen has also been acclaimed for having "a well-earned reputation for making the right decisions quickly with a no-nonsense management style and a sharp focus on the interest of investors, customers, and employees."On Thursday afternoon, he will talk to faculty members about the challenges and victories involved in the Tyco scandal. The evening event will be open to the entire campus and community.
