Forum Health Foundations Launch Capital Campaigns
"YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The Western Reserve Health and Trumbull Memorial Hospital foundations today announced the kick-off of $14 million capital campaigns to support several expansion projects at Western Reserve Care System, which includes Forum Health Northside Medical Center, Tod Children's Hospital, Beeghly Medical Park and Trumbull Memorial Hospital.This expansion, "The Forum Promise," allows the health care system to continue its promise of leading, responding and healing within area communities, according to David Sweeney, chairman of the Western Reserve campaign.Presently, Forum's capital campaign has reached $5.13 million toward the $10 million philanthropy goal and the Trumbull campaign has raised $1.75 million toward the $4 million goal.The fundraising campaign for Western Reserve Care System encompasses several structural changes, upgraded technology, and a cultural focus on a more patient-centered healing environment through its Planetree affiliation.At Beeghly Medical Park, the plan includes:Construction of a three-story childbirth wing to include several nurseries and a neonatal intensive care unit.Expansion and relocation of the pharmacy, dietary department and laboratory services.Relocation of childbirth and nurseries to Beeghly from Northside Medical Center.Construction of CancerCare Centers radiation oncology services. Completed in May 2004, the new suite features an Intensity-Modulated Radiotherapy capable linear accelerator.At Northside Medical Center and Tod Children's Hospital, the plan includes:Construction of a new entrance for improved patient/visitor/vehicular circulation, along with easy access and way finding.Construction of a new parking deck adjacent to the medical center for patient and visitor convenience; will provide an additional 547 parking spaces.<>Renovation and expansion of the emergency department. Renovation and expansion of the diagnostic imaging department to include, MRI, nuclear medicine, radiology and ultrasound.Relocate and renovate medical/family/patient library, pharmacy and youth services.Construction of the West Addition.Projects at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, Warren, include:Enlarging the Emergency Department by 39 percent totaling 14,170 square feet to include a Level III Trauma Center.Construction of a new Radiation Oncology suite with the purchase of a highly advanced linear accelerator.Construction of a connecting skywalk from TMH to the Radiation Oncology suite.Expansion of The Heart Hospital so that comprehensive cardiovascular services are available to Trumbull County.The Forum Promise also supports Forum Health's commitment to provide quality health care to residents of the Mahoning Valley valley. The project is far reaching, ranging from patient care and more convenient access to Forum's facilities.
