F.N.B. Corp. Employees Band Together for Tsunami Relief
"HERMITAGE, Pa. -- Employees of F.N.B. Corp. who sport special red wrist bands and wearing denim on Friday each has contributed $5 or more to the corporation's campaign to raise money on behalf of the Tsunami Relief efforts, officials announced yesterday. The five-day campaign began Jan. 10 and includes employees of F.N.B. subsidiaries First National Bank of Pennsylvania, First National Insurance Agency, and Regency Finance Co.F.N.B. will match every dollar contributed by employees, according to Stephen Gurgovits, president and chief executive officer. The total campaign goal is $15,000. Contributions will be directed to the American Red Cross, whose disaster relief efforts in the stricken area have been rated A+ by the American Institute of Philanthropy. "This campaign offers a way for our employees to participate in a very important effort to help those devastated by one of the worst natural disasters in history," Gurgovits said.In addition to the employee campaign, the corporation has developed a giving guide for customers who wish to help. The guide includes a list of top-rated organizations, contact information, and advice about how to avoid scam-artists. "Although we do not accept disaster relief donations directly from customers, we do want to help our customers make intelligent decisions about the best ways to donate," Gurgovits noted.Visit F.N.B.
