Business Roundtable Calls for Cooperation, Collaboration"
WASHINGTON -- The Business Roundtable is an association of 160 chief executive officers of U.S. corporations with a combined work force of more than 10 million employees and $4 trillion in annual revenues. Earlier today, John J. Castellani, president, issued the following statement today on behalf of the Roundtable:"The tremendous interest and voter turnout across the country in this Presidential election is a proud example of America's democratic ideals at work. Business Roundtable congratulates President Bush on his election to a second term as the 43rd President of the United States and looks forward to the Administration's continued leadership on the economy, foreign policy and domestic issues."We also thank Senator Kerry and his family for their commitment to public service and for the ideas that they have offered to make America a better place."After such a hard-fought and closely contested election, it is critically important that we join together in 2005 with the new Administration and the new Congress with a spirit of cooperation and collaboration to address the challenges facing our nation. The Roundtable believes that growing the economy is our most important job. We are committed to working with the Administration and Congress to ensure a vibrant economy and continued job creation.
