Briarfield to Build Austintown Assisted Living Facility
AUSTINTOWN -- Briarfield Health Care Centers will open The Victoria House, a new 41,000-square-foot assisted living center, next summer.A ceremonial groundbreaking for the facility, named in honor of the owners' mother, Victoria DePizzo of Girard, will be held Dec. 16 at 5295 Ashley Circle.The Victoria House will accommodate 72 residents, including 24 in a special memory-care unit, says Jerry DePizzo, Briarfield's chief operating officer."We are pleased to not only provide a needed health care service to community seniors, but also to help build the local economy by creating new job opportunities," DePizzo adds.The new facility will create 60 jobs.In addition to assistance with the tasks of daily living, residents of The Victoria House will enjoy movies in the center's theater, participate in religious services in the chapel, surf the Internet in the library and have access to spa services.The Victoria House will be "upscale but affordable -- like a fine hotel experience," DePizzo says.The Victoria House will offer a secure living environment and park-like setting on seven wooded acres off state Route 46 between Norquest Blvd. and Victoria Road."
