Farmers Banc Corp. Names Helmick President and CEO
CANFIELD, Ohio -- The board of directors of Farmers National Banc. Corp. announced Thursday that it has named Kevin J. Helmick as president and CEO of the company and of Farmers National Bank of Canfield, its wholly-owned subsidiary.
Helmick had been serving as interim president and CEO since Oct. 4. He replaces John S. Gulas, who was terminated Sept. 30.
In an interview Oct. 7 with The Business Journal, Helmick said, “Our strategic vision and long-term goals remain unchanged. How we get there might be a little different. … We’re as prepared to execute our vision today as we were a month ago or a year ago. … Day to day it’s business as usual.”
Helmick, 41, has spent his entire 18-year professional career with Farmers National Bank, most recently as the company’s executive vice president of retail and wealth management, as well as corporate secretary for the holding company.
“We are pleased to welcome Mr. Helmick into this expanded role,” stated Lance Ciroli, board chairman of Farmers National Banc Corp. “In addition, the board of directors pledges its steadfast support to the current management team and believes the dynamic group has the knowledge, skill and experience to continue leading our company to new levels of success.”
Helmick is a graduate of Mathews High School in Vienna. He received a bachelor’s in economics from Allegheny College in Meadville, Pa. In 2001, he earned an MBA from Case Western Reserve University. His credentials include Certified Financial Planner, Financial Adviser Representative, Series 24 NYSE Principal, Series 7 NYSE Registered Representative and an Ohio Life Insurance License.
Helmick resides in Howland with his wife, Amie, and son, Preston.
