Poland Businesses to Celebrate St. Claus Dec. 6
POLAND, Ohio -- The Poland Village Business Association will present "St. Claus" from 2 to 5 p.m. Dec. 6. Participating businesses will serve treats and offer discount and coupons, Rebecca Nelis announced Thursday.
Nelis of Pathways of Ohio Counseling Center is coordinating the event.
Businesses that have hung PBBA wreaths outside will give Santa Surprise gifts to the first 100 families who visit their stores.
Other activities have children writing letters to Santa and then delivering them him on the spot, horse-drawn carriage rides, face painting and a coloring contest. Students from each of the Poland elementary Schools will carol throughout the business district.
"St. Claus" Saturday is an extension of the Poland Tree Lighting, to be held later that evening. “We want people to visit the businesses in the afternoon, have dinner in the Village, and then join in the Tree Lighting in the evening,” Nelis noted.
The event is an effort by the Poland Village Business Association to encourage people to shop the businesses in the village, and use professional services located nearby. Free hot cider and cookies will be available at Kravitz Deli in the Poland Library and free hot chocolate will be served at Volpini Real Living Real Estate.
