He is in the first graduating class of the associate's degree program in power plant technology, launched in 2003 through a partnership between the YSU Rayen College of Engineering and Technology and FirstEnergy Corp."I have always been into rebuilding motors," said Miller, 28, who already holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from YSU.

Hodge Foundry Grows with Growing Demand for Castings
Friday, May 20, 2005HERMITAGE, Pa. -- Mercer County Commissioners recently awarded a $1.7 million loan to Hodge Foundry, enabling the Hempfield Township manufacturer to retain more than 116 jobs and add another 23 over the next three years.Penn-Northwest Development Corp. helped Hodge Foundry apply for and obtain the Mercer County Industrial Development Authority loan, the second time Penn-Northwest has helped the foundry obtain funding, officials said."Many government-sponsored, low-interest loans are available to assist companies build or expand," explained Larry Reichard, Penn-Northwest executive director.

Voinovich Offers Legislation to Protect Business Incentives

Voinovich say its passage would help protect incentive programs offered for business expansion in Ohio and other states. Voinovich, an Ohio Republican, yesterday announced he has introduced the Economic Development Act of 2005 that would authorize states to provide tax incentives for economic development purposes. The bill is similar to one Voinovich introduced last year.
