Springfield Cryogenic Plant to Begin Full Operations
Monday, January 06, 2014NEW MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- After more than a year of planning and construction, Pennant Midstream LLC's Hickory Bend cryogenic processing plant is ready to begin operations, the company announced today.
"As producers bring wells online and are able to flow gas to the facility, Hickory Bend will be capable of processing up to 200 million cubic feet per day," said Chad Zamarin, president of Pennant and chief operating officer of NiSource Midstream Services LLC.
Regional Chamber: 4K Shale Jobs, $5B in Investment
Monday, January 06, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The emerging oil and gas industry has created more than 4,000 direct and direct jobs since 2010 in the Mahoning Valley and adjacent areas, and invested more than $5 billion, according to the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber.
The chamber announced the numbers in a news release distributed Monday morning.

Growth in Restaurant Jobs Double that of US Economy
Monday, January 06, 2014WASHINGTON -- Job growth in the restaurant industry continues to outpace the overall economy two to one, reports the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The bureau found that the economy added a net 203,000 jobs in November, which marked the third time in the last four months of gains of at least 200,000 jobs. Over the past four months, the economy averaged net gains of 204,000 jobs, which is sufficient to put downward pressure on the unemployment rate.
Restaurants and bars added a net 18,000 jobs in November, the 45th consecutive monthly gain, for a total of 1.1 million jobs.
