Anthem, Akron Children’s Hospital Reach Agreement
Saturday, December 21, 2013AKRON, Ohio -- Akron Children’s Hospital and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield have reached an agreement to renew their long-standing relationship, giving Anthem members continuing access to the hospital and its specialist physicians.
Akron Children’s reports more than 700,000 patient visits each year and performs more pediatric surgeries than any other hospital in northeast Ohio. As an integrated pediatric healthcare delivery system, ACH has two hospital campuses and more than 80 primary and specialty care locations throughout northern Ohio.
Obama Cites Youngstown Manufacturing Hub
Saturday, December 21, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- President Obama referred to the National Additive Manufacturing and Innovation Institute in his year-end news conference Friday.
Obama's reference to the "manufacturing hub that we set up in Youngstown" came in response to a reporter who asked the president if 2013 was the worst year of his presidency.

Ohio Awards Gatta Tax Credits for Mansion Project

The project was one of five in northeastern Ohio to be awarded the credits today.

Americans Favor Debit, Credit Cards as Payment
Friday, December 20, 2013CLEVELAND -- Payments by using plastic – both debit and credit cards – account for more than two-thirds of all noncash payments, the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland reports in a study released Thursday.
The number of checks offered as payment continues to fall, the report said.
The study, conducted by the Federal Reserve System every three years, was expanded this year to include new information related to various payment initiation methods and unauthorized payments, that is, identity theft.
