In a statement released last week, the HBA board of directors announced it has set "a new course," beginning in 2005, as a "volunteer-driven organization" to reduce expenses.

Monday, December 20, 2004YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Shortly after joining Youngstown State University's faculty in 1971 to teach German, Allen Viehmeyer began looking for a research focus involving German-American studies. That search took him to several German-American communities in southeast Pennsylvania and finally to the Schwenkfelders, a religious group formed in the 16th century in Silesia in Central Europe.At the encouragement of the director of the Schwenkfelder Library and Heritage Center in Pennsburg, Pa., Viehmeyer agreed to take on a project focusing on the Schwenkfelders.
International Steel Group to Restart Burns Harbor Plate Mill
Monday, December 20, 2004RICHFIELD, Ohio -- International Steel Group Inc. plans to restart its idled 110-inch plate mill at its Burns Harbor facility in Burns Harbor, Ind., officials announced earlier today. The mill is expected to begin production early in the second quarter of 2005 and to employ an additional 80 workers. Burns Harbor, with 3,700 employees, is ISG's largest plant.Also today, officials announced that the company has received early termination of the waiting period under Hart-Scott-Rodino Act for the previously announced merger of ISG and Ispat International N.V.
