Pennsylvania Council to Receive State Grant
Tuesday, April 27, 2004GREENVILLE, Pa. -- At 11 a.m. tomorrow, two representatives of the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry will present a grant to Northwest Pennsylvania Cooperation Council. The presentation will be held at Duferco Farrell Corp., Farrell, Pa., reports Wendy Hawthorne, communications manager.The grant of an expected $75,000 is the largest grant for labor-management cooperation given to area labor-management committees in the Keystone State, Hawthorne says.

Ohio Takes Lead in International Trade
Tuesday, April 27, 2004COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The recently released 2003 International Trade Division Annual Report, which shows that Ohio exports totaled $29.8 billion in 2003 -- a 7.4% increase over 2002, according to state Development Director Bruce Johnson. Nationally, exports increased by only 4.4% in 2003. "Ohio companies continue to pursue international business opportunities that will help them increase sales and create jobs for Ohio residents," Johnson says.Ohio's exports have consistently grown faster than U.S. exports over the past few years, Johnson notes.
RTI International Metals Nets $2.8 Million for First Quarter
Tuesday, April 27, 2004NILES, Ohio -- RTI International Metals Inc. reports net income for the first quarter of $2.8 million, or 13 cents per share, on sales of $54.1 million. Results for the first quarter of 2003 were a net income of $4.3 million, or 21 cents per share, on sales of $58.5 million.The company is party to a supply agreement that requires minimum annual purchases by The Boeing Co.
