Metro Regions to Spur Growth Through 2020
Tuesday, June 24, 2014DALLAS -- U.S. metropolitan regions will continue to lead the way in stimulating the economy, propelling it to achieve its growth potential of more than 3%, a rate not reached since 2004, a new report has found. By 2016, nearly three-quarters of all metros included in the study (269) will have unemployment rates lower than 6%.
The projected growth rate of the Youngstown-Warren Ohio-Pennsylvania metro region, however, is among the lowest, with a rate of a negative 0.4%.
Education Partnership Gets Grants from 4 Foundations

May House Sales Off 3.2% in Ohio from Year Ago
Monday, June 23, 2014COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Sales of houses statewide were down 3.2% in May from a year earlier, the Ohio Association of Realtors reported today. May’s unit sales itotaled 12,406, down from 12,814, according to the monthly report. May’s sales were up 17.7% in Ohio from the 10,538 in April.
Year-to-date, 45,914 houses have been sold statewide, compared with 48,764 during the first five months of 2013.

Monday, June 23, 2014NILES, Ohio -- NExT Aerospace, a division of Niles International, has passed its AS9100C and ISO 9001:2008 recertification audits, Bill Phillips Jr. has announced.
Phillips is president of NExT.
Intertech audited the company and approved its recertification in a letter dated June 13.
It states NExT Aerospace has established and applies a quality management system for the design and manufacture of expanded metal fine meshes and foils for aerospace applications, complementing NExT Aerospace’s additional manufacturing standard recertification, ISO 9100:2008.
