The city was named the No. 1 city on SmartAssest.com's “Ten Best Cities for Healthcare Access for Your Money” list, while the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research ranked the Youngstown-Warren area 10th on its list of the country's top 100 metropolitan areas for economic performance from 2009 through 2012.

Thursday, the first day of the Live the Wage Challenge, “started a little rocky,” Ryan, D-13 Ohio, reported on Facebook.
His wife, Andrea, had informed him that they had to pick up “a couple of prescriptions” for their new baby, Brady. The medications cost $24.
“So we are down to $130 before we even got started,” he wrote in a post on Facebook.
Foreclosure Rates Fall in Region, Still Above Nation
Monday, July 28, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Foreclosure rates in the Youngstown-Warren-Boardman area decreased for the month of May over the same period last year, according to newly released data from CoreLogic.
The CoreLogic data reveals that the rate of Youngstown-Warren-Boardman area foreclosures among outstanding mortgage loans was 2.48% during May, a decrease of 1.38 percentage points compared to May of 2013 when the rate was 3.86%.
Steel Imports Take 27% of Domestic Market in June
Monday, July 28, 2014WASHINGTON -- Based on preliminary Census Bureau data, the United States imported 3.586 million net tons of steel in June, the American Iron and Steel Institute reports. The figure includes 2.706 million net tons of finished steel.
These figures are down 11.1% and 8%, respectively, compared to final data for May.
Remodeler Confidence Rises in Second Quarter
Monday, July 28, 2014WASHINGTON -- The Remodeling Market Index of the National Association of Home Builders rose three points to 56 in the second quarter, regaining the momentum built in 2013. This is the fifth consecutive quarter for an index reading above 50, th eassociation reports.
An index with a reading above 50 indicates that more remodelers report business is higher (compared to the preceding quarter) than lower.

“A lot of times, recruiters, because of their budget, are limited to only going to big schools where they can see a lot of kids in one shot,” says Jackie Meade, recently retired director of career services at Westminster College.
For smaller schools such as Westminster, with an undergraduate enrollment of 1,468, catching the eye of employers can prove challenging.
KSU Students to Showcase Garrettsville Designs
