Northside Medical Center Named 'Top Performer'
Friday, November 14, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Northside Medical Center is one of 42 hospitals in Ohio to be recognized as a “2013 Top Performer on Key Quality Measures by The Joint Commission, an accreditor of health-care organizations in the United States.
The recognition was announced by ValleyCare Health System of Ohio, corporate parent of Northside Medical Center.
Shell Execs Update Public on Its Cracker Plant Project
Friday, November 14, 2014MIDLAND, Pa. – In about 30 days, Shell Chemicals should announce that it's ready to begin remediation work on more than 540 acres in order to prepare the land for its proposed multibillion-dollar ethane cracker plant here.
"That's part of the permitting process in Pennsylvania," said Randy Armstrong, Shell's senior environmental adviser. "You're required to give a notice to the public that the process is starting. I think we'll be ready within the next 30 days."

AT&T Seeks Applicants for 120 Jobs in Ohio
Friday, November 14, 2014COLUMBUS, Ohio -- AT&T is seeking applicants to fill more than 120 jobs, including more than 90 new positions, throughout Ohio, the company announced Thursday. This comes as the company says it hired more than 1,600 in Ohio between January 2013 and October.
These include positions in IT/engineering, retail, technician, call center, business solutions and corporate support.
Investment Advisers Report Few Security Breaches
Friday, November 14, 2014COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Asked about their cybersecurity practices, 3% of investment advisers who responded to a state survey said they have experienced a cybersecurity incident. The survey was conducted by the Ohio Department of Commerce Division of Securities.
In addition, 62% of firms said they have performed a cybersecurity risk assessment and 44% have policies and procedures directly related to cybersecurity.

Clocks Made in Trumbull on Exhibit at Tyler Center

Moving Mail Processing Could Cost Business $2.3M
Thursday, November 13, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Businesses in Mahoning and Trumbull County could lose $2.3 million in annual income, 261 good-paying jobs will be lost in the Youngstown area, and mail delivery will be delayed and more costly should the U.S. Postal Service implement its plan to close the Youngstown Mail Processing and Distribution Center in July 2015.
